DuPage County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, retrieve an official booking file, or change a record. For an answer about a person or a document, contact the government office that holds that record.
Official DuPage Record Contacts
The right office depends on whether the question concerns current county custody, a booking file, a city arrest, a court case, or a later state, federal, or immigration placement. The Sheriff’s Records Division is the starting point for county booking files. The jail booking and bond line handles a different, time-sensitive question.

Sheriff FOIA Officer
501 N. County Farm Road
Wheaton, IL 60432 on the FOIA page
FOIA@DuPageSheriff.org
Fax: 630-407-2263
The FOIA page and Records Division show different ZIP codes for the same street address. Verify the correct ZIP with the office before mailing a request.
For a current custody search, use the Sheriff’s Inmate Search, which routes to the live DuPage JailTracker. A person may leave that roster after release or transfer. The Sheriff’s Recently Released Inmates page was marked under maintenance when checked, so it should not be treated as a working archive.
Send a focused written request rather than asking for an undifferentiated collection of photographs. Include the person’s full name, approximate arrest or booking date, arresting agency, and case or booking number when known. Ask for the booking record or booking photograph if available and releasable. The official office decides what can be released and what must be redacted.
Where a different office is the custodian
- Current county custody or booking/bond: use the Sheriff’s Inmate Search and JailTracker first. If the web result is missing after processing time, call the booking and bond line at 630-407-2255.
- DuPage booking file or photograph: call the Records Division at 630-682-7256 or use the Sheriff FOIA route at FOIA@DuPageSheriff.org and fax 630-407-2263. Confirm whether the mailing ZIP should be 60187 or the 60432 printed on the FOIA page.
- Aurora arrest: contact Aurora Police Bookings and Jail for a municipal custody or bond question at 630-256-5770, and APD Records at 630-256-5720. Aurora spans DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties, so establish the case county first. City FOIA requests use the official Aurora FOIA route.
- Naperville arrest: start with the Naperville Police Records Section at 630-420-6157, or use the city’s FOIA route through NapervilleClerks@naperville.il.us. Naperville occupies DuPage and Will Counties, and official releases show both jail destinations.
- Wheaton arrest: check the official Crime & Arrest Reports and its archive, then use Wheaton Police Records or FOIA at 900 W. Liberty Drive, Wheaton, IL 60187, 630-260-2161, or police@wheaton.il.us. “TAKEN TO DCSO” and “NTA” entries describe different custody or release paths.
- Court outcome or state custody: use the DuPage Circuit Clerk for case status and disposition. For an Illinois state prison or parole record, use the IDOC Individual in Custody Search or call IDOC at 217-558-2200. IDOC is separate from the county jail.
- Federal or immigration detention: use the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator for federal custody and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for current ICE or qualifying CBP detention. Neither is a DuPage County booking-photo roster.
